We're Back Again
Send News: A Newsletter that's not about games, but sometimes it's about games.
Last week I talked a lot about failing, bad brains (not the band), and staying consistent. So in staying consistent I’m back this week to chat about more stuff. I also just quickly want to shoutout to everyone who reached out privately to check in, leave a nice message, or simply tell me they experience the same feelings. It’s a small thing but it means a lot. I’m coming off a pretty long stretch of big work projects, many of which have seen the light of day and I can talk about! I think this week’s theme is a bit more about flexing creativity in all of its forms. Finding ways to create something every day, however small.
If you’re not here for my work life, sorry that’s most of what this week is, but it’s good, I promise!
Some Work of Mine
Over the month of February I wrote a bunch of Monster Hunter content for IGN. It was cool to work alongside a lot of folks I admire, but also just get to yap about Monster Hunter, a franchise very near and dear to my heart.
I also dove back into the guides mine, a place I swore I’d never go back. But I cataloged all of the weapon crafting trees, and wrote tutorials for every weapon in Monster Hunter Wilds. Which was fun and a reward in its own.
Other than that I’ve been working on a big guides project for Assassin’s Creed Shadows with my pal Diego. I’ve been freelancing for so long now that I forgot what it’s like to work really closely with someone on a project. It’s been refreshing to have a good friend work alongside me during the sleepless nights trying to ensure everything is organized, written, and put into a giant spreadsheet. Diego also likes to goof, which leads to our spreadsheet looking like this,

TikTok
I started trying to make TikToks again as a creative exercise for myself. I have no hopes or plans to try and make it A Thing, but I really believe everyone should try and create one thing a day, something to flex their creative muscles. It’s been fun to make short form video essays where I just fucking yap.
It’s proving harder to make a video everyday, and I’m giving myself grace when I have too much on my plate, but as long as I find other ways to express creativity that day, it fills me up just the same.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows
I’ve been playing the big fancy new Assassin’s Creed and I mostly feel apathetic about it. It’s got some moments, but by and large it’s a game I won’t find myself thinking about outside of work hours. I am however, reveling in the quieter moments. The beauty of the world the team over at Ubisoft crafted, and it’s something really special. Walking through Kyoto or Sakai, swimming in a nearby fishing village, this game has some really breathtaking views. So instead of writing some long list of things I like or don’t like, I figured I’d just share some photos form the game that I took.

I have a lot more that I can’t share until the game is properly out on Thursday, but figured I’d give y’all enough to get the idea.
Borgs
Every time I forget about what a Borg is I am reminded when a holiday themed around drinking comes along. For those who aren’t in the know, a BORG is a Black Out Rage Gallon. Essentially a gallon water jug half emptied and refilled with a mix of alcohol. it’s hydrating Jungle Juice. The key is you gotta name your Borg.
I would name mine “Jesus Christ, It’s Jason Borg”
Thank you for your time.
Alright
Alright that’s probably enough for one week. I hope everyone’s doing well and dealing with life however they best see fit. I appreciate y’all being on this journey with me.
Stay safe, hugged a loved one tight, and fight fascism.
peace.
